For Australians, a swingers holiday has traditionally meant a lifestyle cruise, a resort in the Caribbean, or travelling somewhere specifically for a major event.
Europe opens up a whole different style of lifestyle holiday.
Across France, Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Croatia and other parts of Europe, there is a well-established swingers and libertine scene. But what makes it particularly interesting isn’t simply the number of clubs — it’s the opportunity to build the lifestyle into an otherwise fantastic European holiday.
You might spend a week at a couples-only lifestyle resort in Spain, stay at an adults-only hotel where the atmosphere becomes considerably more adventurous after dark, attend one of Europe’s large lifestyle parties, or simply base yourself somewhere beautiful and visit local clubs in the evenings.
There are also lifestyle cruises, hotel takeovers, organised weekends, beach events and resort weeks attracting couples from all over Europe.
And they don’t all feel the same.
Some holidays are glamorous and upmarket, built around beautiful hotels, dinners, DJs and dressing up. Others are much more relaxed — sunshine, swimming pools, drinks and meeting other couples. Some are strongly lifestyle-focused, while others feel like a normal European holiday where the lifestyle is simply another option.
That’s perhaps the biggest attraction.

Spend a few days eating your way through France. Have a week on the Mediterranean coast. Visit Barcelona or Amsterdam. Take a cruise. Stay at a lifestyle resort. Go to a huge party for the weekend. Then jump on a train or a cheap flight and do something completely different.
For Europeans, holidays like these have been around for years. For Australians, they’re still relatively undiscovered.
